WELCOME TO COBBLE KITCHEN

We are a homegrown catering and coffee business. From humble beginnings on my parents kitchen table, we now operate from our custom renovated space in the centre of Skipton, right on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The epicentre of our business is our lovingly restored 1955 Citroen H van ‘Marcel’, he’s a wonderfully quirky chap and we get all about the dales together serving up many a cup of proper good coffee! Paired with our rustic menu of homemade treats, we can offer bespoke catering for a wide range of party sizes - whether that be a date night for 2, meeting for 20 or a festival of 2000.

local

Showcasing local produce is at the heart of Cobble Kitchen. If it’s eggs from local chickens, milk from cows grazing in the field next door or pork pies from the best butcher in town, everything we use is chosen with care and community in mind.

seasonal

Great ingredients are worth celebrating and when you use them in season you get them at their best. It’s beautiful watching your pantry evolve throughout the year, you’ll often spot some foraged berries or homegrown herbs in our dishes.

souful

Food is nostalgic, food is uplifting; it can take you back to your Granny’s kitchen table, a memorable restaurant or your favourite holiday. We want to make your event next on the list. We cook from the heart, love what we do and you can really taste it.

ABOUT COBBLE KITCHEN

marcel

Bonjour!

Marcel is our beloved 1955 split screen Citroen H van, and isnt ‘he’ a beauty! As you can probably tell, he really is one of the family - people often think when we talk about ‘Marcel’ that he is one of the team, not the van! He found his name after we saw it listed on the original log book - his first ever owner was ‘Marcel Jean’, a farmer in Northern France. So really, he’s been working in fields all his life!

We bought Marcel in the summer of 2013 and it took nearly a year to convert him bit by bit. My amazing dad still works tirelessly to restore his many original features and keep him chugging along smoothly on the road. Its a bit like painting the Eiffel Tower - theres always something to do! He is one of the oldest working H vans we know of and love to see the look of surprise on people faces when we tell them he still gets driven everyday…be it slowly, he only has 3 gears!

He is brimming with quirky vintage charm and we love nothing more than getting him suited and booted for a special event. He’s a busy little van in summer, you’ll find us at antiques fairs, stately homes, country shows and even knitting festivals! Make sure to follow us on social media to keep up with our adventures, and if you’d like your event to be part of them, then check our our ‘hire us’ page and get in touch!

Hello!

I’m food obsessed! There aren’t many moments of the day (or night!) when I’m not thinking about it…my mum encouraged my creativity in the kitchen was from a young age and it instilled a lifelong enjoyment of experimentation - I love nothing more than discovering new ingredients, products or eateries and using them as inspiration in my cooking.

After school, I studied and worked as a photographer, (you can probably guess what of!) But out of curiosity, in early 2013 I attended short courses at Bettys Cookery School and Ballymaloe in Ireland and safe to say, I came home buzzing with inspiration. Therefore, not long after, Cobble Kitchen was born. It really is a dream come true and 10 years on, I regularly remind myself of how lucky I am to be able to make a living while having so much fun! Besides my love for great food and coffee, I get great joy from creating a bright and happy experience for customers.

We spent a blissful 8 years at the picturesque Broughton Hall Estate serving lunch everyday to the 500+ workers (it’s safe to say there is nothing we don’t know about sandwiches!) But after that pesky pandemic turned the world on its head, we decided it was time for a new challenge too, so now focus solely on our event and corporate catering work, as well as developing our awesome graze box offering during the week.
